Welcome to September 2008! If you have visited my site before, Thank you for coming back!
The speaking engagements begin: My first scheduled webcam speaking engagement for 2008: Thursday, October 30, 7-8pm Location: Independence Public Library, Independence, Kansas. Topics will be Kansas ghosts and Kansas ghost towns.
I'm currently open for webcam speaking engagements in Kansas: Contact me for dates, times, rates, and technical requirements. I may live in Florida, but the internet makes anything possible.
Make sure to read the new article here: What's The Matter With Topeka?....if you dare!
I now have a new Chat Room. Maybe you can catch me here; if not, leave a message. Do you have a question about Kansas and you don't wish to pay $15 an hour? See what I can do for free first.
More of the things you want to read: Ghosts I Have Known II You liked Ghosts I Have Known 1? Here are some more! Coming soon.
New correspondence to read.
The 1930's WPA list of lost and extinct Kansas geographical locations will soon be available here online. 6,000 of them with descriptions. Stay tuned for this lengthy project.
Also: My 20 Second Ten Cents Worth. New opinion and commentary, short and sweet.
Release date for: Ghost Towns of Kansas: Revisited has been delayed. The official release date by the University Press of Kansas will be later this year. Sorry for the delay. I'm currently working with several county historical societies in procuring pictures. It is a long process but well worth it. Stay tuned for more updated news when it happens.
Latest:
Enjoy my link to Sound and Fury a little longer; I plan to remove the page soon. Sound and Fury will be a new book released by a subsidiary of amazon.com later this year.
New pages: My 10 Second Two Cents Worth. In my effort to inspire free thinking and controversy, this page will present my side of some issues worth viewing again.
Another new page: What's The Matter With Topeka? will be released soon.
Note: I have a couple of other articles that will appear soon. Sorry for the delay. In getting the next ghost towns book finished and prepared for publishing, my deadlines for that circumvent deadlines for my site. I promise to get those articles completed soon. Thank you for your patience.
You asked for it, now I present it: Thirty years of true ghost stories from across the state! I've been asked so many times about any ghost stories I've picked up....well, I have some personal experiences and some real hair-raisers....and they are coming soon to this site. Until then, check out Ghost Hunters on the SciFi Channel. TAPS rocks.
New developments: As some of you may know, the first three Ghost Towns of Kansasvolumes (1,2, and 3) have been out of print for nearly twenty years. Well, things are going to change. AfterGhost Towns: Revisitedis published in 2008, I intend to release these three as e-copies on this website only.
That means that, if you always wanted them, your chance may come again. Again, these would be electronic copies only. The cost will be around $12.95 each. This should hamper all those second hand antique dealers out there attempting to sell my books for $75 apiece. Stay tuned for potential release dates.
Got any Kansas history questions? Kansas genealogical resources? Ask me for free first before paying for research. I may have the answers you need for free.
